Antibiotics and Eggnog

‘Twas two weeks before Christmas and all through the house
All the creatures were stirring and starting to grouse
Tissues were used and then flung through the air
In hopes of hitting the wastebasket way over there

The baby was screaming, standing up in his bed
While his ears pounded, hurting his head
And Mom’s nose kept running while her fever ran high
And Dad could only whisper, his voice went goodbye

The baby continued to make horrible clatter
So Mom took him to the doctor to see what’s the matter
Both ears were infected, four teeth coming in
Plus an infection for the kiddo, under the skin

And Mom with her nose now running green
Went to see her doctor who was very mean
She had a large sinus infection, thanks to the baby
Antibiotics might help but it’s only a maybe

Now Sudafed, Now Mucinex, Now Vitamin C
Now Optic Drops and Zithromax and a large mug of tea
Now Orajel, Now Ibuprofen and an antibiotic lotion
Hopefully all of these things will create the magic potion

Now our little trio of sickies rests by the glow of the tree
In hopes that soon a bill of clean health will we see
Til then we will rest and infections we will fight
Healthy Christmas to all and to all a good night!

I am sorry that you all are sick but this was an awesome way to share that.

I am so impressed with you right now! Your creativity knows no bounds, even when sick! You rock Laura! If it makes you feel any better, and I think it might, we are trying to dig out of 20 inches of snow here in St. Paul (and our snow blower refuses to work).

OH no. Hope that you are feeling better. I'm picturing you flat on your back composing this in your head. It's quite the blizzard here in Chi-town...check out the Bears-Pats game if it's one there to see what's doin'.

Misery!!! Sorry!

I don't know how I ever lucked out and had TWO babies and ZERO ear infections. I've heard the horror stories. And I believe them.

Feel better soon!

Feel better! I'm sorry you all got so sick so as to create this poem. But you did an amazing job with it, especially the rhythm. No way would I have been able to do that, healthy *or* sick!

It sucks that you're sick but it doesn't suck that you can write a kick ass poem. ;)
